Question1: What Operating System is required for the Elsen Ribbon Printer
Answer: Vista, Win 7, 8, Win 10
Question 2: Can I use the Elsen Ribbon printer on my Apple computer?
Answer: Only if you have the "Windows OS" installed on your apple computer.
Question 3: How does the printer print onto ribbon?
Answer: The Elsen printer uses a "Thermal heat transfer system" This means it uses heat to bond to the ribbon.
Question 4: What maintenance is required?
Answer: We recommend cleaning the print head only when necessary. Over cleaning with the wrong product will shorten the life span of the print head.
Question 5: What type of ribbon can I use in the Elsen printer?
Answer: We recommend a high quality ribbon like the Elsen ribbon. Do not use plastic ribbon (florist ribbon), organza, paper or textured ribbon.
Question 6: What is the minimum length of ribbon that can be printed?
Answer: You can print from 0.5mm to 90metres.(50 metres is the length of the Elsen transfer film and larger ribbon rolls)
Question 7: Does the printed ribbon need to dry prior to use?
Answer: No. The printed ribbon is smudge proof and water resistant.
Question 8: If I had a problem with my printer where can I get it fixed?
Answer: We will help resolve any issues you may have with the Elsen printer. If we are unable to help you, the printer will be sent directly to Elsen Machinery in Belgium.
Question 9: What size ribbon can I print on?
Answer: The Elsen print program has ribbon settings for the following sizes, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 22mm, 25mm, 38mm, 45mm, 65mm, 70mm, 76mm, 100mm.
Question 10: Can I design pictures in the Elsen print program?
Answer: No. The Elsen print program is for printing only. You can design your logos etc using a design program and export it into the Elsen print program. The Elsen program is easy to use. Click the link to see the Elsen printer in motion. Elsen Demo
Question 11: What is the difference between a normal printer and an Elsen printer?
Answer: The Elsen printer is designed to print onto fabric using a heat transfer method. It is a mono colour printer unlike a normal multi ink based printer.
Question 12: What ink does the Elsen printer use?
Answer: The Elsen printer uses "Transfer Film" not ink. It is a thin film that reacts to the heat from the print head.
Question 13: Is there a minimum order for buying ribbons after purchasing an Elsen Printer?
Answer: There is no minimum order for consumables before or after purchasing an Elsen Printer.
Question 14: How long does it take for orders to be sent?
Answer: When payment has been received we will ship the next day. If items are out of stock, it may take 7-10 days.
Question 15: How long is the discount offer vaild?
Answer: When you purchase an Elsen Ribbon printer the discount applies to all consumables purchased in addition to the Special Offer and after the initial purchase. There is no time limit.
Question 16: What are the delivery charges for the printer?
Answer: The parcel containing the printer and consumables varies between 4-8kg in weight. The boxed dimensions are 42L x 23W x 23H. Please send us your postcode and we will calculate the delivery costs for you. Click here
